An all-natural, super refreshing blend of lemon, honey and electrolytes. This drink contains carbohydrates, electrolytes and minerals to provide you with energy and keep your body chemistry balanced on a hot summer day or when you are exercising.
I adapted it from a Labouraid recipe my wonderful pre-natal yoga teacher shared with me years ago. I dug it up a few weeks ago when my kids were asking about gatorate…”Why do people drink it? Can I have it when we go hiking?”
For convenience, try preparing a more concentrated formula (make 2 cups of liquid instead of 4) and freeze in ice cube trays. When you are heading out the door for a hike on a hot day, add a few cubes to your water or favourite juice and you have instant homemade sports drink.
You can also try adding it to your favourite juice or tea and freeze to make popsicles.
